Dear Friends and Family,

You are invited to our home for a “Blessing Way,” a sacred gathering to celebrate the momentous and long-awaited occasion of Jena becoming a mother and Dave becoming a father, before the imminent arrival of our baby daughter in December.

As an alternative to a “baby shower,” the idea of a Blessing Way stems from a Navajo tradition for women, that we are modifying in our own way, to be a “co-ed” experience. In this way, we can also invite our beloved brothers and celebrate fatherhood too.

You are invited to this playful ceremony and party to pamper us with blessings, love, food and gifts.

There will be games, positive birth stories, and a group blessing of the parents-to-be. Plus, it wouldn’t be a ceremony of ours without live music and great food too.
